Teaching at Rancho La Puerta
La Cocina Que Canta “The kitchen that sings”
I am excited to be returning to Rancho La Puerta where I am fortunate to teach cooking classes.
I do more than simply teach cooking classes here at La Cocina Que Canta. It is here that I celebrate the seasons, bask in the beauty and magic of Mt. Kuchamaa, and join the guests in being rejuvenated.
The school is nestled among 6 plus acres of verdant fields where all the produce—in winter there will be many different types of greens, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage and Brussels sprouts, herbs and more, growing in perfect sculpted rows and trees heavy with citrus in the orchards—all lovingly tended by the delightful Salvador, our masterful gardener, will find their way into the recipes on the menu for each of the classes.
I invite you to join me as I teach three fun filled luscious hands-on cooking classes at La Cocina Que Canta, a state of the art cooking center. The kitchen is spacious and inviting with its tasteful use of vivid painted Mexican hand-crafted tiles and intricately carved lustrous woodwork. The sun bounces off the tan boulders that form the magical Mt. Kuchamaa and casts shadows and luminous reflections throughout our cooking and dining areas illuminating both our space and our souls.
The menu is not determined yet, but will incorporate many recipes from an extensive collection of vibrantly flavored recipes from my vegetarian kitchen, my latest book, Fresh & Fast Vegetarian and my newest “work in progress,” Whole World Vegetarian. I can’t wait to greet you, play with you in the kitchen as we cook and eat, and most of all to savor our well being.
